Integrated EVV Software Platform for Home Care Agencies

Home Health Care agencies should take a holistic view of their needs for a software platform rather than just focusing on their EVV needs. Using an integrated home care software platform to meet all the requirements of a home care agency will provide significant benefits that will outweigh the cost savings of ‘Free’ EVV.

Healthcare is an incredibly stressful career field. Caregivers constantly face things others could never even dream of, and providing care in a home-based setting adds to that stress. Caregivers in home-based settings work most of their time independently, develop a closer relationship with the patient and family, and often work long hours. To prevent burnout, caregivers need to maintain an excellent work-life balance.

Many families and elderly patients are now increasingly considering Hospital-at-home and SNF-at-home models. Private Duty Nursing Home Care agencies are uniquely positioned to take advantage of this trend and grow. Private Duty Nursing Agencies can partner with Hospital Systems or Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) to provide skilled care at home.

Leveraging technology and the right software platform will help Private Duty Nursing Home Care Agencies to implement strategies to effectively manage Electronic Medication and Treatment Administration and ensure patient safety.

‘Most Intense Advocacy Effort Of My Lifetime’: Home Health Industry Braces For Rate Cuts

Any day now, the home health final payment rule will officially be released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

As providers await its arrival, many of them are gathered in St. Louis at the National Association for Home Care and Hospice’s (NAHC) annual conference. If the final rule is as bad – or close to as bad – as the proposed rule, it will be a dark day for the industry.

Labor Cost Study Finds Increased Challenges Meeting Home Health Staffing Needs Amid Record Demand, High Costs

The Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare (the Partnership) recently released the results of an independent study that found the Medicare home health sector faces increased demand, a dwindling talent pool, and financial challenges due to inflation and pressures from the pandemic. The results show that Medicare’s Home Health Prospective Payment System (HHPPS) proposed payment adjustments for CY2023 will result in financial harm to providers and undercut patient care and quality at a time when in-home care is an essential option for patients. Further, home health is increasingly preferred by patients, families, and caregivers and the cost of care is increasing faster than Medicare’s payments due to staffing shortages and surging costs for resources.
