OASIS-E1 in 2025: What Home Health Agencies Need to Know
In 2023, CMS undertook a review of the OASIS assessment item set with the goal of reducing the burden of data collection.
Based on the review, CMS has removed a few OASIS elements, revised some of the elements, and added one new element. Learn about the OASIS-E1 changes for CY 2025 in Home Health, including updates to assessments, compliance requirements, and patient care impacts.
Clinical KPIs provide information on average length of service, missed or late visits, client turnover, number of incidents or complaints, etc. Analyzing this information will help home care agencies measure care quality and patient satisfaction to identify areas for improvement.
Home care agencies should ensure that captured data is accurate and timely. Agencies should invest in home care software that ensures the collection and reporting of necessary data to implement Clinical and Quality of Care KPIs.
Scheduling and Employee Productivity KPIs provide information on patient hours, visits, charges, payroll costs, and averages by visit, patient, and employee.
Analyzing this information over a period will help home care agencies measure the efficiency of the scheduling operations, identify areas for improvement, and improve scheduling efficiency and employee utilization.
